Week One!
It was an awesome first week here in Florida! I have been so busy and thanks to DCP housing wifi, it didn't save my first draft of this so this post is a little late but I still wanted to post it for my memory!
Mom and I got to Orlando around 2:00 on Saturday (11) and dad arrived a couple hours after that. We went straight to the Polynesian and got to try the new Dole Whip (which was delicious!) Audrey and her family met us there for a bit so we sat out on the beach for an hour or so before heading to the hotel to meet dad. I headed back to the parks for a little while during the Titan's game and got to do a few attractions and meet some princesses.

On Sunday (12), we got up super early to go to Hollywood Studios. Mom, Dad, and I did the "four parks, one day" challenge, had lunch at Ohana, and ended the night watching Happily Ever After.
Monday Jan. 13- Check-in day!! We left our resort 9:30 to get to my check-in time at 10:15. I went to get my apartment key, program guide, and housing ID at the clubhouse then unpacked the car and went into the apartment. I was the first to check-in so we unloaded everything while waiting for Audrey to get back from her check-in (and we found out we were officially roommates!!!). We got a 2 bedroom 6 person apartment so we knew we were going to have bunk beds with another bed in each room. We got all of our stuff unloaded and starting putting it all away. Our other roommates started showing up about an hour later. We met them all (one I had already met since she lives in Effingham) then went to get lunch and go to Target. After putting away all of our stuff from Target I took mom and dad back to the resort for their Magical Express to the airport. I miss them already! After getting back to Chatham some of us headed to Disney Springs for dinner. Bri, Ellie, Audrey and I went to Rainforest Cafe and got to use our first Cast Member discount!!
Tuesday, January 14- Audrey and I had Casting Tuesday morning so we went there to get our fingerprints done, turn in our I-9 paperwork, and became legal to work for the Disney company!! After Casting, we decided to head to Hollywood Studios for lunch and got a Tower of Terror Fastpass. We ate at Woody's Lunchbox which was super tasty then took the skyliner to the new Rivera resort, then to Epcot. Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy were out meeting so we went to see them before marking the first thing off my DCP bucket list- ride Spaceship Earth in a different language. We then headed back to our apartment for the Good VS. Evil welcome event. It was a lot of fun and we even got to meet the Old Hag and Mickey in his Sorcerer outfit!!
Wednesday, January 15- We had a slow start to Wednesday morning after being out late the night before. After lunch all our roommates had plans so Audrey and I went to Magic Kingdom to celebrate Space Mountain and Carousel of Progress' 45th anniversary! We made it a "challenge" to get all the Tomorrowland attractions done that evening! We did it and even topped it off by eating at Cosmic Ray's for dinner! We got ice cream on Main Street before heading back over to Tomorrowland to ride the Peoplemover again during Happily Ever After. At the end of the Peoplemover we got stuck right before unloading so we got to see Tinkerbell take her nightly flight out of the castle. It was such a neat view!!
Thursday, January 16- Audrey and I decided to get up super early Thursday morning to get a boarding group for the new "Rise of the Resistance" attraction. We got an early group and even managed to be the first people on the first elevator of the day on Tower of Terror! We had some time to kill before riding Rise so we went over to Animal Kingdom and did the safari! The giraffes were so active and running all around our truck! We went back to Studios for Rise (which was awesome!) then headed to Magic Kingdom to have lunch with Mike and Barb at Columbia Harbor House!! It was so nice to see them! After lunch we went back to rest before going to Disney's Boardwalk that evening with Kayla and Shelby! I had been talking to Shelby quite a bit before moving here so it was nice to finally meet her!! We got Ample Hills and rode the skyliner around a bit before ending the night by watching "Epcot Forever" on the Boardwalk bridge!
Friday, January 17- All of our roommates had Traditions Friday so Audrey and I went to the opening of the International Festival of the Arts at Epcot! We got to watch the brand new shows opening that day- "Awesome Planet" and my new favorite "Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along!" We also got to mark another Bucket List item off our list which was to "meet Gail and Scott!" They are the cutest couple who always have the best outfits on when visiting the parks!! We got our new passholder magnets, ate lunch, then came back to get some housekeeping things done at the apartment before our big Traditions day!!
I'm working on another post on Traditions and my training days but I am absolutly loving being in Florida, learning more about my favorite company, and working on "earning my ears!" I've had some questions on my mailing address so I wanted to share for those asking- 8136 Chatham Manor Blvd. #24104 Orlando, Florida 32821.
Have a Magical Day!!
xoxo, Hannah
